More than a bar crawl

The Wendy L. Hudson Appendix Cancer Awareness Foundation was founded in loving memory of our friend, Wendy who we lost in 2018 to appendix cancer. Our aim is to raise awareness about appendix cancer and help those in our community suffering from (any type of) cancer.

We accomplish this by hosting a #Cancersucks bar crawl in Fishers. We sell T-shirts, artwork, homemade afghans and raffle tickets on the day of to win prizes that are graciously donated to us every year.

We also have some amazing sponsors!

Kali Curry

Kali Curry who was diagnosed with stage 4 Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) which is a rare tumor that grows slowly and causes a build-up of mucin (a jelly-like substance) in the abdomen and pelvis, giving rise to the name “jelly belly” (side note: all stomach cancers are considered stage 4 and never go into remission).

SINCE ITS inception IN 2017, AND OFFICIALLY IN 2019, THE WENDY L. HUDSON APPENDIX CANCER AWARENESS FOUNDATION HAS WORKED TO RAISE FUNDS FOR FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY SUFFERING FROM (ANY TYPE OF) CANCER. WE ALSO HAVE A LOT OF FUN ALONG THE WAY!

OUR MISSION:

Our aim is shower those in our community diagnosed with (any type of) cancer with love and the money raised during our events goes to that person/family. We are all volunteers and earn nothing from the proceeds. We started in 2017 when our friend, Wendy found out that her appendix cancer was back. This has grown into a great way to remember Wendy and give back to our community.
